glancaster - "prewar" means very different things in different places in Manhattan. UEE UWS - classic 6's, 7's, 8's, built as residences for luxury. Pre-war also encompasses walk-up tenements all over Mamhattaqn. Downtown, below GV, most "pre-war" were, or are, industrial or commercial buildings converted to residential. Lofts, new conversions more apartment like than true lofts.
So, the real question what sort sort of "prewar" are you looking for?

AH, LOL.

I'd look on and around the Gold Coast - lower Fifth Avenue. I can't think of anything available at the moment, but you could keep watching, or work with one of the brokers who specializes down there, of whom my boss is one.

Be aware that these can still be highly prized, so you might have to move quickly, depending on the unit.
