Williamsburgh is more of a lifestyle, like flophouses and drunk tanks.

Long Island City is an investment, like tulips and swamps and chia pets.

LIC, totes. Much less facial hair. Although bottoms, that might not work for you.

25 years abatement VS. 15 years, a lot of restaurants VS. a few, union sq VS. midtown.

Those with an eye toward long term investment should look hard at both Williamsburg and LIC.
Location wise, it's hard to argue with either.
LIC gives the feeling of youthful yuppie rebirth where urban professions can raise familes with enough personal space to make the whole thing livable. Williamsburg is hippstertown and the incubator of whatever counter culture this town has in it.
I say LONG term investment because the half life of Strontium-90, LIC's radioactive isotope of strontium, is 28.8 years.
Between now and then...if you got'em...smoke'em.

Oh, you mean this wasn't a genuine question, but rather another go at some run-ins and vitriol? Nah, couldn't be.

What a twunty post of trollbait from someone whose self-worth is validated by the shortcomings he perceives of two neighborhoods.

In Wbottom's defense (that seldom-used phrase), he's never claimed not to be a troll.

I've been to the butt end of NYC. Got my foot stuck in the crack. Some asshole who lived there freed my foot by making a loud scary sound followed by a oder that was very Newtown creek smelling.
You have got to be careful in that part of town.

Since this thread is totally for s&g apparently, I thought I should post some of mu-tomboy's greatest hits. Here are some classics:

"Comparables in the radius of your property is your agenda, but your agenda does not represent the holistic neighborhood."

"We has humans can subliminally express anything."

"What is the clinical name for neighborhoods when they grow? e.g. globalization."

"Your are a liar and the blood of jesus be against you."

and my personal favorite:

"Don't argue with lots of people she disagrees with bjw2103 because he lies and portrays he received the word from the penatuch and saw visions in the eifle tower of the agendas he portrays as fact."

ok...here's an attribute of both neighborhoods..sort of a developer's perspective...
ok, i'll start

both neighborhods have plenty of space that can easily be developed in the future...so if all the unfinished and unsold new stock ever sells, a developer can easily engage new projects, effectively resaturating the supply circumstances of both neighborhoods..both neighborhoods qulify for a "keep an eye on this" status for developers

now i think it's safe to say that williamsburg has more restaurants and activity, generally, than LIC--i have lots of fun in williamsburg, but that's just me

and, both neighborhoods share issues re long tern unremediated toxic waste accumulation

there, we're on a constructive tack now, aren't we? that wasn't sp difficult

Half life of Strontium-90 is 28.8 years

Plutonium-238 half life is 87.7 years.

28.8 seems kinda positive in light of that!

GO SUPERFUND!

Thinking of limericks wittily
Where the idea of LIC
Makes me want to run and pee
But I'll hold it till I get to Long Island Citilly.

Si, son qui a Firenze - lovely city, been working for the past 9 days to achieve a C2 level of Italian for my job, which is the highest level recognized in the EC, and it is now done. I even have a certificate, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian into English & Spanish. May start to do French again, but I really do hate the French.

Saw Siena over the w/e, went to the Uffizi today; this is my second time in Firenze, so no need to go to Santa Croce, etc., all over again. Vacation starts tomorrow, on my way to Venice for 3 days, returning on Sunday. This is my first time in Venice so I'm very much looking forward.

I have to say, though, that I'm disappointed in Firenze: NO QUEENSBRIDGE HOUSES!

No, actually, you can say it both ways. You are correct that "sono qui" is textbook Italian, but for the first person it is very common to hear "son qui." In fact, it is the opera way of saying it, too.

http://www.paroles2chansons.com/paroles-andrea-bocelli/paroles-mario-mario-mario--son-qui--non-qui--non-la-sospiri-la-nostra-casetta--ah-quegli-occhi.html

I saw it (it was originally a typo) & decided to leave it, perche cosi se parla nel italiano parlato - nel italiano della strada. Se non mi credi e vorresti avere una conversazione, sono disponible.

Prego, lo faro. Allora: a letto!

PS: you won't find "vuol" in the dictionary, either, as a correct conjugation of "volere," but "vuol dire" is the way to go every time: Italian cosi parlato come oggi is a rather new invention, and it has all sorts of quirks to it.
