Does anyone have any insight on entering the Real Estate Development field? What backgrounds are looked for? Thanks

I just went to an info session for a Masters in RE Development. They required "some" form of real estate experience for the candidates though they didn't specify how much or what kind just saying any form of real estate backgrounds is ok (brokers,leasing,apraisers. I'd attend these types of info sessions or make appointments with their careers offices - loads of info there!
