I've seen the G line which I love but has anyone seen the H line? Is it dark?

How is the building? The monthlies seem a bit high - amenities? 14 F for $795,000 - reasonable?

You can't beat the location. However, the building still looks like rental ( it's a condo converted from rental ) - old/narrow elevator landings. They had a bike room and a part-time doorman at some point( it might be a full time now - not sure ). Maintenance is reasonable ( but it does not pay for much since there are not many amenities ). They allow washer/dryer, but the storage space in one bedrooms that I saw was on the smaller side. 14F seems to be priced in line with other units.

It's actually priced very fair for a Pre War Condo...not too many of those on The Upper West Side--or in the city for that matter. 14F has an accepted offer. Nice apartment, but the bathroom is in the bedroom which isnt ideal for every buyer out there.

I meant F not H. I saw a G apartment last year which I really liked and placed a bid on but didn't get. I thought it was a nice prewar building and they didn't have a zillion apartments on each floor like the Olcott. Janiney, are you sure that they have an accepted offer? The Corcoran website doesn't say anything about that but I have been having trouble getting in touch with the broker...

14F - according to the broker: "The buyer has signed and we are waiting for the seller to fully execute the contract. Almost there."

Is 23 days a lot of time? I thought the price seemed really low since it is so high up. Did you see this apt? Was it dark? I will try and get in touch with the broker again to make sure it hasn't closed. I really liked the building when I saw it.

Last year there were some problems - building insurance issues, too low owner/occupied percentage and few banks writing mortgages there. 17H was a lot nicer than 14F with ok light and city views but was on the market forever and sold after a huge cut.

Weren't prices were low in October? Still haven't heard anything from that Corcoran broker. I love the location and really liked the building when I saw the other apartment. Monthly seems reasonable compared to 20 W 72nd. I like the Olcott apt once I am inside of them but the hallways are insanely huge and the gym is tiny and the prices are so high. Plus I worry about that BBQ restaurant. Roaches? Thanks for all of your help.

Any other properties like this in the area? Condos in this price range with similar monthlies? I have not been in the building yet - what are the common areas like? Updated? Clean? etc.

When I saw the apartment last year I remember them having nice small hallways and foyer. I don't remember the elevator. I also think that they had a laundry room but I don't remember them having a gym. The other prewar condos that I have been looking at on the UWS for the price aren't in as good an area (closer to Broadway and further up away from express train).

I liked the Olcott a lot which is on the same block but the prices are sooooo high and the hallways are crazy long like a hotel-plus it has a BBQ restaurant in it which looks gross. I also liked the Apthorp, but they are on Broadway and 79th and I want to be closer to the 2/3 and the park.

I've also seen some nice condos on 74th btwn Columbus and CPW but they are in townhouses and I always worry about having to split fixing brick or roof work with a small building. The Trump also has a bunch of condos but I find the Trumpville area depressing.

My good friend has a 1 BR in the Olcott. He loves it. No issues with smells, etc. I find the hallways hotel like but nice - laundry on every floor. Prices are quite high - too rich for me. Still quite a few residual rent control units.
