Our timber trash/recycling storage containers in the front of our brownstone in henry st BH are due for replacement with pieces falling off etc. I've seen this model called MetroBox.biz in hicks st and although they dont have a company phone number listed, tracked down the person who is the private importer of these (available in august) unfortunately at $1200 each (we would need 2) more than i want to really spend. I've seen some rubbermaid ones befre but would really prefer not to go that route. Any suggestions on alternatives?

Deanc: I know you've posted on Brownstoner - have you tried alibaba to bypass the Bk distributor?

oh! have you bought anything there? i look through that site all the time, it's so great, but haven't been brave enough to buy anything. namely, some bespoke sundresses from china. would you do this?

I haven't but I know people who've had good experience buying big-ticket items. I know that they didn't pay it all upfront.

i did actually try to find similar on Alibaba, i knew it wouldnt be american made and at $1200 there is a very steep markup to be gained however....couldn't find anything residential, basically all are commercial like the ones you found.

with the number of garbage bins outside in NY you think there would be more residential unit suppliers available....
