Discussion about
Looking at stackable units and all in one units, feedback about the all in one units I've seen reviews that say they don't dry very well and take forever, feedback please.

Don't assume your co-op board will let you have any kind of washer or dryer in the unit.

Remember to check that the electrical outlet supplying the W & D matches the W &D's electrical requirements. Happy with my stackable Bosch W & D, even though I had to pay to upgrade the electrical outlet.

As you noted, the reviews on a lot of the combo washer/dryers are not good:

My rental apartment before I moved to Manhattan had a stackable GE W/D. I never had any problem with it. It was a lot more convenient than going to a laundry room, it didn't break in the 4 years I lived in the apartment, and the drier did dry the clothes.

People citing the negatives of having your own W/D are just trying to justify why they are spending such a huge amount of money to live in Manhattan and they lack a basic convenience had by blue collar workers living in the midwest.
