Discussion about
I moved into a new construction condo, and still have a number of remaining punch list items due to shoddy work. The sponsor has lied about the items, and refuses to do any work. In fact many of the people in my building are in the same boat. Any suggestions on what our options are? Thanks!

Isn't your attorney supposed to hold some of the cash in escrow until the punch list items are adhered to?

Which building are you in? If it's the sponsor I've been hearing problems about you're in LIC.

No, the attorney did not hold cash in escrow. And some of the items were unkown until after I closed. Not in LIC, but I believe this issue is commonplace across all of NYC(lousy construction/owners delaing with punch lists, etc.)

no escrow, no luck. if many owners come together, you can approach the sponsor that way. if nothing, then there's a class action lawsuit.

So if your sponsor won't even deal with your punch-list items, I'd like to see what happens when you need repairs that are supposed to be covered in your condo warranty.

We did hold out and delay closing until punch list was completed, but there are items that you don't know about until you live in an apartment.
