Why is this on a real estate board under Sales?

But to answer your question; $10 for teacher, $5 for assistant. Per child.

No bribes, no money, no gifts. (duh)

If this parent collecting the money is some sort of left-wing nutjob, explaining how inappropriate her behavior is won't go anywhere. Complain to the principle and higher up the chain about forced cash bribes to teachers.

There are myriad NYC parenting discussion boards out there. Why are you asking this here??

Thoughts ?
Yeah, here's a couple. As stated above, you are on a Real Estate Sales thread. Not being a broker my point is this, your screen name is "brokersSTINK" and you come on their board to ask such piffle? Charming. To everyone else: notice how the brokers didn't even address this. That's called the high road folks.

i always hated parents like your money collector--as organizer of the bribe, they seek to get extra benefit based on there having organized--it was always selfish right wing assholes who did this at my kids' school

"If this parent collecting the money is some sort of left-wing nutjob..."

So wanting to give gifts to teachers is some kind of sign of left-wing nutjobbiness? I'm perplexed how this random observation entered the discussion. Seems even more out of place than the BrokersSTINK moniker.

It does sound sort of collectivist, like the dues at those Communist country clubs in the suburbs.

Just give your own gifts and be done with it. I hate collections. Too much room for corruption.

Um, how about no gifts?

Do they not collect salaries?
