"Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that if I said, 'You know, guys, I want to do something different,' they'd be fine. They're not invested in daddy being president or my husband being president. But they do believe in what we're doing," Obama told NBC "Today Show" host Ann Curry in an interview that aired Tuesday. And the president revealed that even he sometimes feels like giving up." OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I voted for the guy, but to me this sounds like "It's hard, I want to go home." Really? To me it sounds like he enjoys the challenge of being US President, but he has the comforting knowledge that his family supports him whatever the outcome of the next election will be.
oh good! as long as he's not taking the whole TOO seriously and michelle and the girls don't mind daddy doing something else. being the leader of the free world is overrated anyway. it's not like he's married to the idea, he could just as well go do something else. you just watch him live a full and happy life after all this! he will survive!
Like W was invested. Gimme a break. Obama was just being honest, which is rare for him and any other politician.
no talk to crazy lady. crazy lady bad.

That was exactly my take when I first read it. Personally, I couldn't fathom any other previous president making that statement outside of Jimmy Carter.
Gitmo still open
Troops still in Iraq.
Troops still in Afghanistan.
New wars in Libya and Yemen.
The bush tax rates for the "wealthy" still the same.
Unemployment rate 9.1%.
Debt is 15 trillion dollars.
But, my wife and I love airforce 1 and 2 plus all the golfing and parties. And how do you actually get a job in the private sector?
julialg' Bushes still at large.
unless we're planning to recoup our expenses, the only thing pulling our troops home will do is strengthen the dollar due to our reduced expenses. IT WILL NOT CREATE JOBS!
the only thing that can create jobs is an INCREASE IN DEMAND. then only thing that can create and increase in demand is CONSUMER SPENDING. the only thing that can create increased consumer spending is an INCREASE IN JOBS AND INCOME. the only thing that, ugh, you get it....
unless you want the gov't to just start hiring people to do nothing (don't laugh- a lot of countries do this), we'll need to rely on cost-conscious business owners for job creation.
