Did you find it to be easy? I've never seen it.

Here're the licensing requirements: http://www.dos.state.ny.us/licensing/re_salesperson/re_sales_broker_faq.html

The NYPL has sample exams (http://legacy.www.nypl.org/branch/features/index2.cfm?PFID=193) if anybody wants to stop by over lunch, whip one off, and report back.

Apparently, aboutready seems to be the expert in "how not to be a real estate agent" as displayed in this posting on Brick Underground: http://www.brickunderground.com/blog/2011/01/dos_and_donts_for_real_estate_brokers

What in the world do you expect from a salesperson?
Basic knowlege of the product and the capacity to work a copy machine.
Posters on this site expect their broker to be a re analyst/comper/psychologist/mommy.
Give me a break!
Unhappy with the profession????
DO IT YOURSELF

There should be a different exam for NYC as opposed to the rest of the state. I clearly remember multiple questions about soffets and calculating acreage, though there were none about the difference btw owning in a coop or condo.

brooks we would then certainly need to eliminate all lawyers then. you are right that would get rid of most.

We are the most ethical of all, and held to a higher standard than all. Yes of course there are bad apples as in every profession, but as Shakespeare said The first thing we do, lets kill all the lawyers......meaning, Mr. Hones, that the result would be anarchy. Now I am sure that we are all going to see a bunch of greyed out posts.
