Discussion about
how long after the closing date is typical for it to be posted on streeteasy? thanks
I think the median is two or three weeks. Some tax filings are done within a few days. Others are delayed by months, for no good reason.
I have been looking for the closing data (on SE and ACRIS) for a unit that I know closed mid-december- and it still has not been posted.
We closed on a Thursday, SE posting appeared the following Monday. ACRIS took 2 weeks.
Isle_of_Lucy: Did SE show a closing price that Monday, or just the status change from "In Contract" to "Sold and Closed"? It seems strange for SE to show a closing price a week and a half before ACRIS.
W81, good question, and I should have elaborated.
On Monday, status was changed from "In Contract" to "Sold". Closing price posted later in the week, maybe an additional 3-4 days.
Closing price differential between SE & ACRIS was maybe a couple of days at most.
In any event, to answer OP's question, the whole package was online within two weeks, max.

If the sale was all-cash, closing cost info may not be searchable.
bram - the closing was not all cash. In fact, the bank doing the mortgage showed up in ACRIS, which confirmed my closing info from a board member
care to share the unit? Ill check ACRIS on my system? I see it all on Urbandigs.com and the acris lag varies. I would say:
50% are filed within first 2 weeks
35% are filed within first 4 weeks
10% are filed within first 8 weeks
5% are lost and filed whenever - could be months or even years later
Let me show you...Lets look at all ACRIS filings as of Friday, July 1st.
1 from 2001 - yes, 2001 - 55 EEA, unit 12D (http://streeteasy.com/nyc/closing/1950994)
1 from NOV 2010 - 325 Pleasant Avenue, unit 5B (http://streeteasy.com/nyc/closing/1950969)
1 from JAN 2011 - 30 E 37th St, Unit 4H
1 from MAR 2011 - $10 transfer at 157 E 32, lets skip
2 from APR 2011 - 1438 3rd Ave, 8B / 133 W 22, 10E
9 from MAY 2011 - wont list, you get idea
46 from JUN 2011 - earliest one filed was 333 Rector Place, unit 1206, sold on June 24th, so 8 days prior
get the idea?? Now consider how quarterly reports are lagging as tons of Q2 sales continue to roll in and get filed AFTER the published market reports.
I was told they have up to a year to record the sale. We were looking for one also.
