The Broadmoor - 235 W 102nd Street - Bedbugs?

I almost feel bad posting this - but I always check the bed bug registry before I contact an agent about seeing an apartment. There are 3 reports of bed bugs in this building. They're all in 2010, but as we know - that's not very long ago, considering a bed bug can live in the wall etc for a year without eating. I hope it's not the case, that this place has a current infestation, but I'm suspicious that there are always so many units up for sale or rent. I would just proceed with caution and try to talk to current tenants if you can. http://bedbugregistry.com/location/NY/10025-4923/New-York/235%20W%20102nd%20St

If the management put something under the door, that is a good sign. The buildings doing the most harm are the ones in denial who do not want to address it. The buildings that seem to be successful removing them are the ones who jumped on it asap. I had also read an article a few months ago that said they were in just about every city. Even Cleveland for crying out loud.

The Broadmoor will always have inventory for rent and sale whether or not it has bed bugs because it is like a dorm, with a large number of small studios and Columbia friendly location.

I live in the UWS and this should not surprise any New Yorker. There are bed bugs in the city, and lots of them. I am quite neurotic about the problem we have here and always recommend that we buy bed bug prevention products. So worth the investment to improve your chances to not get infested. I recommend the Allergy Guy for bed bug products. http://www.theallergyguy.com/us/

Due to the postings on the registry I too was very worried about our daughter moving here, though she loved the apartment.

We hired the Bedbug Inspectors and had the dog check the apartment, the lobby, elevators, the hallways, and the laundry room. Everything was clean.

Daughter has moved in and she couldn't be happier. The super and doormen are great, roof deck is gorgeous, and she has very considerate neighbors.
