Discussion about
We are looking for extremely careful movers who won't damage our things or our new home. Anyone have suggestions? thanks
I have never had a client complain about Manor Moving and they have been great with me as well:

Movers Not Shakers in Brooklyn. We had a flawless multi-city move last year with them. They were supremely professional, careful about everything, arrived early, stayed late, were pleasant guys and didn't add any charges to the estimate. I recommend them highly.
There are many moving threads on this forum. Flatrate Premium service would be an excellent choice.
I adore Divine Moving,
I have done 5 moves with them in NYC, and also keep items in there storage unit and happily recommended them to my friends. These guys are amazing, after working with them, I now no longer believe that moving day has to be stressful. They almost make it effortless. I must admit I have a love of beautiful things plus with my love of high ceilings 12ft, the items are often very large.
eg 10 ft paintings, 11 ft high wrought iron brownstone doors, backed with mirror, etc.
Yet even with the weight, scale and fragility of some of my items, there has not been a mishap with the items or my apt, or building hallways or lift. They are incredibly careful with the wrapping process, onwards.
Additionally, I was blown away with the price, it was the lowest of 3 quotes the first time (didn't bother checking after that, I knew I would always use that company).
On one small job where I had a set price, (I was returning a dozen items to my storage room) our building freight elevator was out that day and the guys just took the stairs, without even blinking or raising there price, they just go beyond what you would expect.
I couldn't speak more highly of them, David Cohen is the owner and my favorite foreman to request is Isaac.
Interesting, when I looked up there link to post there, I saw a review at Citi Search that showed a score of 5 stars out of 5 for 80 reviews, it looks like I am not the only one who thinks they are great.

Congratulations on your new home.
general: "Movers Not Shakers" is a great name for a moving company.
I never heard of them before but now will never forget their name.
I've noted this in other threads but we had excellent experiences with Brownstone Brothers. It's a small company, its workers are full-time employees and not day workers which means they're more careful and serious about how they do their jobs, and the company has been around for a long time. Plus they're very nice people whom I was happy to have in our home and taking care of our things.
If it matters, we twice moved precious goods -- china, crystal, mirrors, art, and a Steinway -- and not a single thing was harmed, scratched or upset in any way. Couldn't recommend a mover more highly -- plus they were the best bid after we solicited apples-to-apples competitive bids from 4 NYC movers.
Love them.
Used Flatrate on the 26th of February 2010, when that 20 inch snowstorm hit NYC. They arrived at 7 am, packed up our 3BR apartment, and didn't damage a single thing in the end. They were very professional. I'd pay a little more to use them again in the future.
I have used flat rate twice. They did not damage or break a single thing in either move. They were ontime, professional and responsive.
As a broker, I have recommended Flatrate, Oz or Moishes Movers. They have done many moves for my clients. Never had a complaint.
I have had great results from All Star Movers both personally and when i have recommended them to my my clients
