you guys play word definition, i'll play word association. the way i've always understood and used the word erudite is to mean not just cultivated and educated, but also critical and a little humorous, if that makes sense. were i to call someone erudite, i would also probably describe that person as genteel and maybe even elegant? but that may be because i've always associated the word erudite with oscar wilde. this is fun!

he was just greyed out. it's no big deal! but his feelings were hurt so he doesn't want to play with us anymore.

nope, mama bear. in fact, after she kept pestering me about it, i finally made a whole presentation to her about pot actually being not crack and in fact, even safer than booze. it was pretty impressive for a stoned kid, it included stats about date rape, drunk driving deaths, binge drinking deaths, individual accounts of girls doing things they wouldn't otherwise do because they had been drinking, lots of other stuff, it was great. she finally agreed that pot is not crack and i did have a point about getting good grades. and thereafter, even though i didn't flaunt smoking, it wasn't a secret either. true story.
