Show your support for the Park at Pier 40 Celebrate With Us at the Courtyard Fields SUNDAY, JANUARY 27th at NOON Speakers - Entertainment - Bagels & Hot Chocolate 14 months ago, Related Companies proposed building a neighborhood-transforming entertainment center on the pier. On May 3rd, over 1500 people came to speak out against it. On December 17th, Pier 40 Partnership presented a concept for a low impact way to redevelopment the pier. On January 31st, the Hudson River Park Trust is expected to makes its choice. NOW is our chance to Celebrate The Park and let the Trust know we want to Keep it a Park. Pier 40 is a beloved 15-acre public resource at West Houston Street where people play ball, access small boats, enjoy river views, and store their cars. It provides almost half the revenue needed to maintain Hudson River Park. To secure its use, the pier needs rebuilding. Finding a way to cover this cost is a difficult challenge. Related Companies has tried to improve its proposal, but it remains a tourist oriented entertainment center including Cirque du Soleil and other large venues, and it still relegates children to playing ball on the roof, endangers users of the bikeway, and brings even more car traffic and nightlife to our park starved neighborhood. Come join our celebration of the park and send a clear message to the Hudson River Park Trust that we want to preserve this precious asset. Your participation will show support for a project that will use parking and low impact development to pay for rebuilding the pier. REBUILD IT TOGETHER. A PARK FOREVER. PIER 40. Where is courtyard fields? I'd like to show my support and there's Bagels.
The proposed development would be a favorable change to the community.
Let's drop the fear of change and get behind...
I agree with realestatejunkie, not NIMBY who wants car storage, astroturf, and other suburban mistakes.
