How much is fair for a 680 sf 1BR apartment? 1. Caulking bathroom between the ceiling/floor and molding 2. Pulling out old shelving nails, plastering up holes 3. Fixing wood floor in a couple places 4. Painting I got an estimate from the handyman in my building and wanted to see if it was a fair quote. Thanks in advance
2500 to 3200. Assuming doors moldings ceiling painted. Just a wild guess. Do you win anything if you match the estimate.
1 and 2 you could do yourself but fixing wood isn't as easy as it sounds and painting gets expensive...pay him whatever you think is fair. There is never an exact amount.
Good guess spunky. He quoted the lower end of that so I'm going to take it as he's not ripping me off. He's also doing a few other things as well. Thanks just wanted to make sure this was reasonable.
Sounds like this shouldn't take him more than 5 to 6 days to complete so you figure about 300-400 per day plus supplies. Just make sure he removes the garbage at no cost . BTW when all is said and done you'll probably end of spending at the high end of the estimate due to unforeseen changes and additions. Don't forget to get all approvals from your building which will be an experience and possibly an additional expense.
Reclaim that useful space.
