Discussion about
"NY housing sales tumble, but prices hold steady" "Number of sales in city, minus Staten Island, off by 40% in second quarter from a year earlier, but average price inches up and foreclosures shrivel." "Not all the news in housing is bleak. Despite a decline in the number of home sales logged in the city during the second quarter, prices remained steady and developers have more developments planned than they did one year ago, according to a new quarterly housing report released Thursday." "The good news was that prices essentially remained steady, edging up 0.8% from year-earlier levels." http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20110818/REAL_ESTATE/110819885/1072

This is textbook...

Step one - demand drops and sales tumble. Step two - prices fall.

Restaurants are, however, adding more specials and using groupon and living social instead of permanently reducing their prices. I have never seen so many offers and many for 50% off. Even the Four Seasons had a lunch special recently

Using Groupon - soon they will be registering with LinkedIn, making it a true Internet bubble.
