rental search by lease date

Streeteasy, is there a way to search for rentals (already in contract) by their signed lease date? Assume vast majority of rental leases are 1 year and you know that you will be looking to possibly move in say March 2012 it could be helpful to see which apartments had been leased in Feb, March, April 2010 as to give an idea as to which apartments may come available if current tenant chooses not to renew. Someone could also proactively contact the landlord regarding a particular apt and say "if the curent tenant does not renew I would be interested".

I used to do that fo rentals, targeting a building and finding out what units may come available based on the previous year's rental.
Something I liked having as a quiet advantage.
Now that own I don't really care, but why on earth would you want SE to make that easier for everyone else,those who arent as creative, thereby competing with more people for those?
