Advice to brash young traders

I have to agree with Grantham, nobody remembers a true bear market. So far any real bounce down has been followed by a bounce up. It doesn't always work that way.

“At least us old men remember what a real bear market is like, and the young men haven’t got a clue.”

Of course, you need those bear markets to get those bull markets everyone always wishes they got in on...

so 2001 to 2002 wasnt a bear market ? there were layoffs all over the street and in every other. anyone who has worked in NYC in a bank for the last 4 years has every bit of understanding of what a bear market is.
