On Manhattan pricing? Nothing. Up, up, up. It can only go up. The Chinese and Brazilians are lining up -they go to Manhattan straight from JFK with carry on luggage stuffed with cash.

I like how home prices are rising in the D.C. area. Seems the only people with money to spend are those employed by the Federal Gov't gov't(up 6.43% over the past two years)

Brazilians are propping up the Miami market. However, they are only buying property right on the beach. I also heard from a realtor that with the latest downturn in Brazil and the effect on their currency, the boom has tapered off quite substantially in the last month.

Since China has it's own problems, I don't think Manhattan can depend on either of these groups to prop up Manhattan RE indefinitely.

I think you meant to say those employed in lobbying the federal government.

Seriously, you think the guy/gal who just made GS-12 at the EPA is bidding up properties in DC?

malthus, it's the clerk typists and welfare queens who are bidding up DC property prices.

Get real.

Are you adding "clairvoyant" to your other skills? Guess being unemployed allows you to explore such things.

No, no, no: They GO to Miami to GET a brazilian (wax), THEN they come to NYC and pay cash for real estate that only goes up.

Really, whenever will you learn to pay attention...
