Discussion about
Does anyone have a sense of the ballpark cost of city windows per window. The windows I want to replace are oversize, loft windows. Thank you in advance for any help.

familyguy: There are other threads on this topic.
CitiProof did the windows in my former apt. Just give them a call and they will send somebody over to measure and price it.

Thanks but I'm trying to estimate the reno costs of s place I'm thinking of buying, so I can't get a proper estimate. Just trying to figure out roughly how expensive it could be. I'll look at other threads but si far haven't found any numbers.

I used CityProof (supposedly they are better than CitiQuiet) and it was $4,000 for two bedroom windows. I used the thickest glass. The windows work very well. But bear in mind if you have AC in the window you will get sound leakage.

familyguy: Just call Citiproof and ask about oversize loft windows.
as Bernie mentioned, there are 3 different thickness of glass to choose from (that option may not be available for oversized loft windows due to the weight.) If Citiproof has done loft windows, they will have a rough estimate of price.

They also install a/c covers, for when the a/c isn't in use. No leakage that was noticable to me.

Right- when the cover is on there is no sound leakage at all - works great. I just meant when the cover was off there would obviously be sound coming through the AC. But all in all they work really well.

I recently used CitiQuiet and they seemed ok, but didn't address the HVAC unit on the wall. Noise still leaked through. I'm going to see if CitiProof can do a better job.
