Discussion about Newport East at 370 East 76th Street in Lenox Hill
Got my daily email from Natefind, and it listed an apartment in Newport East that was recently reduced to 949,000. However, even though it said it has been listed for four weeks, I could not find a link to that apartment on SE. What gives? Thoughts??? Also, any overall ideas about this building?

very strict board. must put at least 25% down and still looking for liquidity of at least 1x down payment after closing.
Heard Joe Namath used to live there..
they have a pool on the roof
Is the llama rug still in his apartment? The HBO film "Namath" shows him the apt with the wild furniture and white rug.
Joe Namath lived across the street.
Newport is a very nice building with a great pool, somewhat tired lobby, and cookie cutter apartments.
Most folks who live there that I know are very happy with the building.
as a youth, I cut out the picture of his Manhattan apartment, llama rug and all, and pasted it over my desk. My dream was to be the ladies man that Joe was. There were a few problems with my plan, genetics not being the least of them. By the time I was ready to mirror a ceiling my age and endocrine had changed so I mirrored the dining room ceiling and when my kids walk in on me eating, I quickly cover my food.*

falco falco, talking to yourself again?
Typing to myself
And to you
Just went to an open house at the bldg. A nasty lady was sitting in the front with her friend interrogating everyone who came into the building. At first we thought that she was the showing broker, but it turns out that she lives in the building and "WE don't allow pied-a-terre". I was so angry, I can't tell you about the apartment, except to say that the broker wasn't happy to see us either. So we went up to the roof to see the pool. Another old lady says, "why are there children at the pool?" I couldn't get out of that building quick enough, which is basically what everyone in the building wanted. Stay away unless you fit the profile that they are trying to maintain.
The listing brokers was very nice to us, they made it very pleasurable to see the apartment. Also very nice size apartments in the building with very high ceilings and great views too. Also the monthly maintenance is low (includes electric, gas, heat and a/c). Doorman was really friendly too!
Are any owners interested in renting their one bedroom?
any insight on board approval process here?
anyone know why units continue to fall out of contract in this building?
yes, because the building board is rejecting applicants during board interviews for absolutely no valid reasons. Something seems fishy
