- Terrible asset management company owns the building - you're lucky if they call you back after leaving messages for weeks. - The elevators always break down. - Very often, during the summer, rodents crawl into the elevator shaft and die, and then are left for days/weeks decomposing, lets just say the smell of dead animals is not for those with weak stomachs. - Half of the doormen sleep or sit and play on some form of electronic devices during their shifts, only to get to the door, if you are lucky they even get up at all, after you have already walked through. - Doormen take breaks so often that they must be incontinent. - Cockroaches - yeah its NYC, but really... its pretty bad when they lie crushed and dead in and around common areas for weeks. - The "central air" offered in some apartments, is a painful joke - the units are so inefficient energy-wise, should you be foolish enough to use them expect summer month's utility bills to be $800+ - Certain building employees often sleep during the day in the gym. - With the list of building negatives that go on and on, there are certain employees that actually perform as one would expect and even go above and beyond the call of duty, but that list is short (2-3).
