absolutely awful!!!!! i cant imagine what those punks were thinking but Im quite certain that they didn't do it to intentionally hurt someone critically...they were being stupid kids, & now they have to pay the price for their poor luck & timing in throwing shopping cart. i mean a haf a second after & perhaps it would've just crashed down & harmed no-one. it is soooo sad. poor woman & her poor son had to witness this. the whole situation is just a mess.

Read this woman's profile. http://www.elliman.com/real-estate-agent/marion-hedges/1352
She sounds wonderful.
Several years ago, out in Nassau County, kids were throwing cinder blocks/frozen turkeys/etc. off of overpasses that were constructed during the Robert Moses era. What that means that for several decades kids resisted the urge to throw things off them, endangering lives. Then for reasons unknown...they started. Several deaths and injuries motivated the county to construct high fencing on all overpasses. Think about it, huge tax revenue to prevent the behavior of a few youths with impulse supression issues.

A better plan would be to publicly flambe these youths, sending a message to all that such behavior would no be tolerated by the members of the community. Instead....they just pissed the money into a bullshit contract job. I'll bet there was some payola involved.

falcogold1:

1. people like that are a threat to everyone, especially their neighbors
2. the street often gives them up
3. because of their age they must be tried as juveniles and cannot generally receive long sentences
4. if sentenced they are likely to be a lot smaller and weaker and prettier than most of the other
juvees in jail with them
