Apparently there are 3 bedroom apartments in this building that cost $2609/mo, but you cant get approved unless you make LESS THAN $143,000/year.
As soon as a working couple, making only 75k/y each has a baby, we can't choose a rental based on price without the city telling us we're too white to live in Harlem.
How can you put a max cap on a rental? If you have a 3BR for $2609/month, why can't I have a shot at renting it?
Just another way to prevent hard-working families from getting affordable rents.

and you're being white has exactly what to do with that? This is subsidized housing, get over it.

It's middle income housing
the range for a 1BR (renting at $1,877) is more reasonable: 66-114K

Its middle income housing. You make too much to qualify for the rent at that price. With your income (150k) you can afford to live elsewhere for a slightly higher rent price for a THREE bedroom. If you are only having ONE child why do you need THREE bedrooms? And if you can afford $2609 for a three bedroom then you can clearly afford $2609 for a TWO bedroom. One room for you, and one for your child. These buldings were BUILT for low to middle income residents with families. Not people who make MORE than enough to afford market rate apartments but want to be greedy and live cheaply at the expense of others.
