Discussion about
Just curious does any one know what the Trump unit was sold for? This is the one broker was asking for $3mm while the comps were 30% lower.

I have since erased the episode, but the apartment number was said in the episode. If you can remember it should be an easy search on here, hofo.

I realize that reality TV shows have little reality in them BUT....are we, as viewers, getting completely scammed by Selling NY? I was curious last night watching and wrote down the apt # (23D) but it is nowhere to be found - not in Streeteasy and not in the Warburg listings (this is also confirmed in the Curbed site who couldn't find it either)...was that just a big story by Warburg about the brokers parents to generate TV interest - he said he has had "a few offers" but it isn't even on the market!

Separately, the super-overpriced 10 West End Avenue property (21B) sold close to ask but the buyer is listd as BRN Realty with an address at 10 WEA Ave - 21B. There is a ridiculous amount of inventory at 10 WEA and this was a very stale and overpriced listing. All of a sudden when TV is filming an amazing offer materalizes?

I've seen this before on a property on West 57th Street where the annoying broker on Selling NY (don't remember who he was but he was one of the Razz-A-Ma-Dazzle brokers over those with substance) marketed the apartment, which was in his own building, at a super-high price and even the co-op board president was shocked and didn't believe it would sell and it sold in a few weeks to some LLC out of NJ. I realize many famous individuals purchase through LLCs but these are NOT super high end properties and the pricing absolutely defies any existing current buying pattern (except from an unsophistsicated buyer and broker). If these were institutional buyers (i.e. rental companies adding to inventory) they would have negotiated a much better deal.

Any insight on this phenomenon? Are we being duped by these RE brokerage companies just to make it look like they're moving inventory at amazing prices for publicity??

yes you are being duped. most of the "buyers" are friends of the brokers.

>most of the "buyers" are friends of the brokers.

This is true. I was asked to be on and had at least 2 friends taped for shows.
