Discussion about
What is the amount that people normally give to the doormen, maintenance staff, super, etc for a christmas bonus in a condo building where I own?
lol. someone's head just exploded.
You own but rent out the unit?
own and reside. it seems the level of service is significantly better than the rentals i have lived in and therefore i assume the christmas bonuses must be higher also.
start with $100 per staff - $271 holiday rate for increased benefit and COLA pension adjustment = collect about 4 applebee's giftcards from each staff member..
i usually just tell them to leave in my mailbox, loving the new 2 for 20 menu
My tipping standards (close your ears and shut your eyes, Matt):
1) $100/doorman - adjust up or down depending on level of service
2) $50/porter - see above
3) $200/super - ditto
1 and 2 depends on how many doorman you have.
If 100 people live in a building with 4 staff members
versus 200 people live in a building with 8 staff members and so on.
The bigger buildings should not be tipping the same, otherwise they're paying double for the same services
somewhereelse - in your example if each person pays the same amount then each staff member gets the same amount, right??
lucille: Yep. kylewest just did the scene in "Scanners". lol.
