Discussion about 180 Lafayette Street in Soho
And this differs from your expectations how?
You're paying $6500 a month to live in a 2200 sf loft in a 7 story Soho building. You're upset that there's no soundproofing. Not to be mean, but those buildings were built as factories, to house sewing machines and whatnot. If you want a nice quiet residential experience, that $6500 will get you a nice peaceful oasis of a home in a Rockrose, Related, etc building that was MEANT to be lived in.
Sorry, but I'm with hburg on this one - your expectations were off.
No need to apologize when agreeing with me.
Thank you, West 34.
I can't stand the whining of people who want to live in "hip" lofts in buildings that were never intended for living ... in neighborhoods that are zoned commercial.
The worst, however, are the people with kids. Newsflash: there are clubs in the East Village that -- *gasp!* -- play loud music after 8:00 pm!
I remember one a rabid sanctimommy passing out a petition in the West Village -- some kind of parents' group that was trying to "clean up" Christopher Street. Oh, their little kiddies had to walk past porn and sex shops to get to school, donchaknow?
Honestly. Unless you moved to the Village in the late 1800s, Christopher Street has always been a center of bohemian excess. It's what you signed up for when you moved to the West Village. Deal. If you can't handle it, move back to Connecticut where you belong.
