I know we all tip for movers. But, what about Occupy Wall Street protestors? Just got off the subway, and a protestor yelled "Down with Capitalism!" Do people tip for this?

"Just got off the subway, and a protestor yelled "Down with Capitalism!"

absolutely. your tip to him should have been that the mta is a public benefit corporation, funded i believe 30& by federal gvmnt, 15& alabany, 5% nyc, toothfairy vouches for the rest. explain to him very slowly and using small words and a calm tone of voice that this filthy subway platform you share with rats and the vagrants who are so over the zuccotti park scene is not the place to bemoan capitalism. it's the place to curse socialism. so kindly direct him to some nice starbucks where he can get warm wash up in the bathroom and if he keeps all his sighs out and keeps repeating 'down with capitalism", people will probably buy him a coffee taking him as either a courageous class warrior or an unfortunate young man afflicted with turrets. either way, his vicotry in NOT in the subway. tell him he's already won that one.

Starbucks is closing their restrooms (in NYC only) to their customers and the public.

Indeed.

Occupy Wall Street has made NYC unfriendly for business, residents and tourists alike. That'll do wonders for our tax revenue.

The Post has a nice article on the OWS protesters who are staying at the W Hotel.

I found though that the Daily Show had a better one ... the protesters are using the public space at 60 Wall Street, in the Deutsche Bank building. And everyone knows, Deutsche Bank is the only Wall St. firm on Wall Street (or Broad Street for that matter).
