looking to invest in COOPS with liberal sublet policies in Manhattan. Any suggestions would be great - prefer those with now minimum required time to live in the building- thanks

Good luck with that. Co-ops, by their very nature, are designed to keep "investors" like yourself out.
Stick with CONDOS.
Check Tudor City. Many coops there are liberal.
Matt you should reconsider it for your building.
Maybe even you'll rent out and can go to Mexico or something for 3/4 months. Give your poor neighbors a break.
Tudor city coops vary in sublet policy. I believe 5 Tudor City place has liberal subletting. 320 does not allow sublets for purchasers after 2002 and 25 TCP allows sublets, but with hefty fees

Suggestion for SE.
Maybe under Rental search include the field "type" as you do in Sales so one can search available rentals in coops. THis helps narrow the field to a searcher of coops that rent but still offers a generous amount of hits/clicks for SE. :)
