Discussion about 3585 Greystone Avenue in Riverdale
Does anyone have any thoughts or comments about this building? It seems nice. How about the neighborhood?
lisareese: I looked at a condo in that building.
Nice building, small roof-deck, visitor parking available.
The neighborhood is sleepy (as avUWS puts it).
You need a car to get to the shopping area. There is a small strip of stores a few blocks around the bend, near the express bus stop. But it will be difficult to walk there in Winter with snow/ice on the ground.
Riverdale is nice but the streets are very winding and steep.
Check carefully into the quality of the construction (it is a condo and you will be responsible for all repairs) and look at the balconies from below. Be sure to get full disclosure on the damages wrought by Hurricane Sandy and other storms since the building was built. How extensive were any repairs necessary in the upper apartments? For lower apartments, what is the drainage situation? Is flood insurance possible or required? What about storm damage insurance? How soundproof are floors and walls between apartments? Be fully informed. One should assume there are reasons that some of the building is still unsold.

I wish people would stick with just one posting name.
Why "Truth2" couldn't come up with his/her own nom de streeteasy? I don't know.
Do you think that "Truth2" is also another posting name, for somebody (or a nobody) already posting on streeteasy? I agree.
