Discussion about
Looking for a plumber to do work in Manhattan for a smaller fix-it job. My search on this board generally gives plumbers who do major renovations, and that would be overkill. Any recommendations?

I've had great results with Fred Smith Plumbing. http://www.fredsmithplumbing.com/

On time, reliable, friendly staff, and charged exactly what they said they would. Well run, quality organization.

Fred Smith Plumbing cancelled on me before the storm (understandable) and again today post-storm (9-12 appointment window, reconfirmed at 11 that someone would show up in a couple of hours; just said at 3 -- in response to being called -- that no one would show up). Unbelievable.

My plumber is going up to 157th street and riverside tomorrow, do you want him to stop by?

People liked it when I circled back with results on my soapstone counter, so I'll do it again. We used (twice) a plumber recommended by our co-op's all-star super. Had a different recco by somebody I trust, but in the end I didn't need to use him because the first guy was so spot on.

My guy: one guy, in biz by himself. Responded promptly (and cleanly), no problems 10 months later. Totally reasonable cost. We'll be using him again.

I'm w67th street, my wife was touched by thousands, and my dad smoked like an irresponsible West Virginia coal miner, but all white people are to blame.

hey ali, maybe your "great friend" and fellow harvard alum buddy alphonse fletcher could stop by and give you a hand. throw him a few bucks. he's known for good, honest work; and he's a bit down on his luck in here.
