Discussion about
Hullo hive-mind -- I'm looking for a restaurant to have a business breakfast near 40th and 2nd. Pershing Square is the only thing I can think of, but ideally I'd like someplace a little quieter... any suggestions? I'd ideally like an East Side equivalent of Norma's, if there is such a thing. Thanks in advance! ali

Matt, I had that thought since I love the Bull and Bear, but it's no longer open for lunch anymore, sadly, let alone breakfast. But I'm not sure that Oscar's (which is where the Waldorf offers b'fast) is worth schlepping a half a mile to. Can you think of anything like it that's a little closer?

Comfort Diner on E 45th Street......maybe too casual for you, but it's pretty quiet in the morning and the food is a cut above most other diners

For a business breakfast complete with privacy and minimal noise would be the Ambassador Grill and Lounge at 1 UN Plaza at 1st and 44th. A bit pricey, but serves the purpose.

If you could push it to lunch (or even brunch on the weekend) Docks Oyster Bar is great (40th & 3rd). I so miss the one that used to be on the UWS...

How about the Harvard club on 43 and 5th......

Or there's Dunkin donuts at the Highpoint on 40th 2nd. No ivy degree required.

new2RE: Hope Comfort Diner is going to have their "milkshake-of-the-month" back on the menu.

Just go west to the Bryant Park Hotel.
