Discussion about
I can't stand the lousy closets in some of the rentals from 80s and later buildings.

Anyone have any ideas for alternatives to doors on a walk-in closet?

How about a curtain? I love fabric, you can use any pattern or color you like & it takes no room at all.

How much does it cost ( labor and materials) to change cheap bifold closet doors? What's nicer - sliding closet doors or traditional hinged double doors?

Bump. Anyone?

I also want to know, how much would it cost approximately to "expand"/bring out a set of closet doors? I have a closet in a little nook that if the doors can be brought forward, it'll increase my closet space by 20" or so. But I'm most certainly I would have to pay for a new frame and such right? It is currently in one of those ugly (very ugly) bi-fold doors.

Many thanks.

I agree, all of these newer buildings we are looking at have such limited closet space , I'm taking about ones from the past 5 years or so.
