I am about to go check out these condos but just found out that the building has been involved in heavy lawsuits. The name of the building changed from Dakota to Collection, articles online mentioned serious legal issues. Anyone with insight on this?

Why would you pay these absurd prices when you can buy a whole brownstone for the price of a 3 bedroom in this building! Don't be stupid!

Location...you won't find a whole brownstone for 600K in the neighborhoods I'm looking at. But this is not the question here.

The location isn't too bad and the prices are on par with the market for that area. However I've been following that building for awhile now. There have been legal issues in the past. Originally it had contracts signed...and then the sponsor refunded all the deposits and took all the units off the market for a long hiatus. There were legal battles between the investors and the sponsor/developer...etc.

Now it's finally back on the market, marketed by aptsandlofts. I noticed some contracts were signed already. Maybe it's legit and the sales are happening for real this time around.

Saw these apartments yesterday. One thing of note: The elevator in the 904 Pacific address was seriously messed up. A small consideration, perhaps, until you start using it on a daily basis. For a new building, that seems....not so good.

Interesting apartments with a lot of light, but I also had some concerns about heating / cooling with all those windows. But the neighborhood seems quite cool.

What is the neighborhood like - changing rapidly I imagine. Do you think this is a better investment than downtwon brooklyn, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene?
