hello all. looking for higher-end silk wallpaper - something with striations. saw some nice wall paper at the W-hotel I just stayed at. Was looking online, and much of it seems really cheap. Any ideas on places to get higher end wallpaper without a designer? Live in NYC so local places welcome. Thanks in advaance
Oops - meant to post this to renovations.. if the moderator can move this, that would be great.
thanks
Check out Koroseal.com. They have a showroom in the D&D building, and I think you can get in without a designer. They are also very good about sending you samples, whether requested via the website or at the showroom.
Tend to doubt that the hotel had silk on the walls - could have been a very good vinyl, hard as that is to beieve. Check out the dupioni silk patterns at Koroseal.
Maya Romanoff has exquisite wall coverings, and they have a showroom in NY, but you probably need a designer with you. If you can find a store in Manhattan that carries the line, that would probably be a way to go.
I would look at Phillip Jeffries
Maya Romanoff makes a slightly lower priced line aimed at commercail/residential applications that is carried by Koroseal. Check out the Maya dupioni vinyl - actually has texture
Here's one site that could be helpful.

hi all, thanks for the suggestions -- I found some awesome prints at Koroseal that I really loved. I went to order and find out about pricing, and the sales people said I needed a designer to order.. anyone know a cheap(er) but quality designer who could weigh in on the decision and order the wallpaper too? Otherwise, any work-arounds for ordering through them?
Call the office at the D&D Building; they're apt to have someone to help you with that.
Do you have any friends who have a re-sale number? (small store, whatever). Ask your friend to e-mail Koroseal, ask for samples, tell them it's for the "project" of re-doing the store. Then have your friend order for you.
Doesn't have to be a designer.
I did it through a friend who has a small clothing boutique.
goto the A&D bldg on 58th St. Check out Donghia.
The D & D building has a buying service for those without a designer. For info go to ddbuilding.com
