Discussion about
I'm thinking through a bathroom renovation. Aside from cost, I'm interested in hearing views on the pros/cons of keeping a flushometer toilet vs. replacing with a tank version.

For power the flushometer is great. For every other reason I would go with a tank. The flushometer is just not asthetically pleasing

That's right and they drip, drip, drip.
And when they are not working properly they make a metallic grinding noise when flushed.

You should go with dual flush toilet which saves water and is better for the environment. These toilets are popular in Europe

Definitely tank version. Go with Kohler pressurized toilet tank, it's great.

Fuck the environment. A little extra fresh water flushed into the sewage system, if anything, helps things.

Flush-o-meter cannot be beat!

Davidson's Plumbing on Route 17 in Paramus sells Totos. They were very knowledgeable and helpful and explained the pros and cons for it.

lovetocook: are they still pushing Totos by saying "It's the Rolls Royce of toilets"?

I love the dual-flush. I mean, if all you're doing is a tiny piddle, why waste 10 gallons of water?

Is there something which LOOKS like a tank, yet you don't have to change the plumbing of the flushometer? That's what'd I'd really like. I also want to get rid of my flushometer based solely on aesthetics. A tank toilet looks way better.
