That's how they roll, jjeanx:
Deny, refuse, accuse.
This is terrble.
Most owners there bought at the very height of the market between 2006 and 2007. As though that weren't bad enough... Oy.
It is not very nice of me to say this at this point, but the renovations they did there never seemed right to me... I can say the same about the Sheffield, too, but nothing really felt quite complete, well done, substantial or fresh. I was actually surprised to hear that it is an Extell bldg.!
Hi everyone,
Any updates on the above issue (toxic chemicals infesting the building)? Sounds like a nightmare?
Also, in a previous thread about the building, many people gave it a HUGE thumbs down: common areas are cheap and common charges are "really high"--but these postings were from 2 to 6 years ago…. Can a current/recent resident update us on these issues? It seems like the common charges have settled down a bit; they don't seem high at all right now, in 2014.
Thanks so much.

Has this issue of
Rosenhaus's suit against his apartment's owner and the condo is still going on, five years later.
Apparently whatever may have wrong has been fixed, as he keeps renewing his RS lease. For the term ending 6/30/2015, he's paying $1998 for his one-bedroom, #20C.
Besides his leases, there're lots of other interesting documents filed with the case. On eCourts, search for index 116263/2008.
To clarify, the condo wasn't a defendant until this year. That's the fourth amended complaint. At some point eight other tenants joined Rosenhaus as plaintiffs, but they've all settled. Rosenhaus is back to being the only plaintiff, and the defendants are Extell, the sponsor LLC which owns the unsold apartments, all the contractors who worked on the facade/windows/HVAC, and the condo. And the managing agent, so virtually anybody having to do with the building.
