Discussion about
Hello all, I've searched the archived threads, and thought that I might see if there any more recent opinions on a good moving company. I am moving from downtown Brooklyn (parlor level of brownstone) to 30th Ave area in Astoria, Queens (2nd floor walkup in a house). Typical 1 bedroom type of stuff (queen bed, small dresser, two CRT televisions, two TV stands, an smallish L-sofa, wood coffee table, a couple other bits and pieces -- nothing too expensive or fragile). Any good recommendations? Local people or Oz/FlatRate? Any ideas on cost?

You don't need fancy movers, especially if your belongings include a cathode ray tube. Look for local signs.

Curious about you moving from Brooklyn to Queens ... your thought process?

We used Flat Rate in Feb to move from NJ to NYC. We called them and gave them a list of each item and they quoted us a price. The move went smoothly and we paid exactly what was quoted. They packed everything carefully and nothing was broken. Would definitely use them again.
