PSA: Avoid The Vanguard Chelsea

Do yourself a favor and avoid renting here in the near future. There is incredibly loud and disruptive construction going on for the next six months. Meanwhile, the apts will be unusable during the day, so if you have a dog or child or work or study at home, too bad for you. While other peer buildings have provided rent abatements in similar circumstances, these guys are too greedy for that. Worse yet, management actively hid the construction from current and new tenants while jacking up the rents in the last round of renewals/new leases. The terrace has been closed for well over a year as management waited to begin the construction. It really shouldn't be advertised as an amenity--who knows when it will be open? Caveat renter!
