[A former Wall Street trader and Yale-educated attorney, who was convicted of arson yesterday for burning down his Phoenix mansion, appeared to pop a pill after hearing the guilty verdict in court and died minutes later, according to Fox 10 News in Phoenix via New York Daily News. Michael James Marin, who once reached the summit of Mount Everest, was convicted in Maricopa County Superior Court "of arson of an occupied structure" after setting his $3.5 million Biltmore Estates mansion on fire because he could no longer pay his $17,500 monthly mortgage, according to media reports.] http://www.businessinsider.com/michael-marin-swallows-pill-in-court-2012-6#ixzz1zHDotmHw [less]
Couldn't he have just walked away from the mortgage like everyone else?
he should have talked to dumboy here about his options.
> "of arson of an occupied structure"
it is such a dangerous thing to do! to set fire to anything in a desert state, hope nobody was hurt. he might have suffered from type A personality, those that don't have any tolerance for failure.
I was under the impression this guy was an idiot renter.
He should have:
1) Stop paying the mortgage and live rent free for a few years. (Savings of over $200,000 a year)
2) Take all that cash saved over the next 5-10 years, then just buy a house or condo outright.
3) Profit.
4) Retire.
Any renter able to find a flaw in this plan will be given $100.
Oh, and if the house doubles in value, he gets to keep that also.
Only sucker renters pay for housing. The elite 1% live for free.
On the other hand, renters will pay market rates for housing until the day they drop dead,
but enjoy the advantage of not having to paint the place.
there you go. you could have saved a life.
The owner should have educated himself.
