it is such a dangerous thing to do! to set fire to anything in a desert state, hope nobody was hurt. he might have suffered from type A personality, those that don't have any tolerance for failure.

I was under the impression this guy was an idiot renter.

He should have:
1) Stop paying the mortgage and live rent free for a few years. (Savings of over $200,000 a year)
2) Take all that cash saved over the next 5-10 years, then just buy a house or condo outright.
3) Profit.
4) Retire.

Any renter able to find a flaw in this plan will be given $100.

Oh, and if the house doubles in value, he gets to keep that also.
Only sucker renters pay for housing. The elite 1% live for free.

On the other hand, renters will pay market rates for housing until the day they drop dead,
but enjoy the advantage of not having to paint the place.
