Did 2010 buyers make 50% profits on $200k studios?

Discussion about
2 years ago, I recall seeing $200k studios being posted here. Of course, some of SE crazies told buyers they were CRAZY. Now, there seem to be none of these $200k studios. If the cheapest studios are now listing for $300k, can we infer that the smart investors who bought 2 years ago are now sitting on a 6-figure profit cushion? Pretty damn incredible. Live for $1000/mo, and get paid $100k to do so. A renter doesn't see that sort of money in a lifetime!

Post a few examples.

I suspect that those were in troubled buildings (unresolved landlease issues, unfinanceable buildings, etc.) and resolution has occurred, or owners have resigned themselves to unsaleability. Plus of course holding off the market during the slower summer season.

A renter sees that sort of money many times in a lifetime, with the right derivatives plays. Or a job or even marginally successful business.

No but I made 100% on sprint in 4 months. Enough to buy 4x $200k studios.... But unlike most re bullz, why would I play lotto when sprint is gonna hit $12/share within a year? Flmaozzz

Keep pumping and humping dealturd. News flash! The days of getting paid to sit on a sofa iz overz!!!!! Not my fault you chose glassblowing as a major.

I know plenty of glassblowing majors who have done extremely well for themselves, mostly by trading in Sprint derivatives.

No, we can be 100% certain that deadbot has a dual BS in Business (because he wanted to get rich ... hahahahahaha!) and in BS (just because).

Anyway, a simple SE search will show that there are still plenty of studios available for under $200K.

Alan if $200k gives you $100k, surely $5mm condo will net you $2.5mm gain in a year?, no? Why not dealboy?

Surely the perpetual money making re gods are not left leaning commies only looking out for the little studio owners.

Yikes. Sprint is up 15% from the last time I told you to buy. And 120% from my $2.40 call.

iPhone 5 is gonna be a huge leveler for sprint. You got sprint paying 700 bps on 7yr debt. Now what happens when sprint grows FCF and recasts its debt at 300bps in the next 2 yrs?

The dummies sold apple when it went from $20 to $40. The smart ones leveraged up and bought at $40.

WHere do I go to buy these bonds? My savings account pays less than one tenth of that figure!

I am bad with finding listings. Can you help me?
If you had to buy an under $300k studio, which one would it be, and why?

renter pays your mortgage and you build equity. Assuming no negative carry strategy makes sense

Flmaozz. I'm a renter. I give my LL enough rent for his 3% yield, which given 10% rise in cream cheese is not that much, but given .0002% yield on savings looks huge....

I'm glad to pay off his mortgage over 30 yrs whilst I make multiple millions on my sprint with the downpayment. Flmaozzzz.

I guess if you were gonna buy prada bags it makes sense to 'own' re. Hahhaaaaaa. Riversider and dealturd should create a fund and buy studios. Go on. I dare ya.

Please short me. Go on dealboy. Please short me.

It I sold my $2mm in sprint and just kept the $1mm in 'profit in sprint', the next 100% jump is infinite return to me as I have $0 at risk.

When you have time from blowing glass. Sit down with an HP and some finance 101 txtbks with lots of pictures and learn.

w67th, I actually put my money where your mouth is and purchased a decent amount of S at 4.40 - has done quite well so far, so thanks! Maybe bottoms will find a way to mock that while simultaneously slurping on your every word. Should be entertaining.

Well, Wbottoms desperately sought out w67's stock advice, and then when w67 reiterrated his call, he said he couldn't do it. What did w67 call him, "deaf of reading"?

I'm wondering why inododo says he "kowtow"s to w67, and then he doesn't buy Sprint either? (also wondering which races inododo were referring to when he said that certain races were prone to being heavier)

For that matter, columbiacounty has stated he idolizes w67, but, what about the Sprint?

At least apt23 followed through and bought.

I'll confess to a certain fondness for w67th and i'll never invest in sprint. Why? because we can't. many employees of law firms and banks can't invest in individual stocks (and other financial cos. have many restrictions as well).

Aboutready, I didn't mention you on this matter. You've shown your willingness to buck w67. More significantly, while I'm sure you have a fondness, unlike others, you don't dwell on it, as if it were to make you the popular girl in high school as some others feel the need to be.

Cc, I don't need any commish. The fact Bjw buys and pumps up my $2.40 sprint is thanks enough. Funny enough it is exactly how RE got pumped up. To expect nyc re which went from $200psf to $1500psf in 20 yrs and to expect it to double to $3k is insane. Yet ppl refinance and continue to buy!!!!! Fking financial retards.

To expect a company trading as a bk company at $2.1/share and to double to $5/ and again to $10/ in a year is not insane given its market cap of $15b. There are individuals with $15b in assets. Ya think $15b is too much to pay for the 3rd largest US wireless carrier as our society continues to go mobile. Ppl give up cars bf their cell phones.
