I saw that listing yesterday! Thanks SE, for getting our hopes up, with that $300k-range listing in a great neighborhood, and then dashing them!
Actually SE is infinitely better than ZIllow with this kind of thing. I can't even count how many sub-$300k "Manhattan" listings on Zillow turn out to be houses out in the boring suburbs that are listed incorrectly.

So put an offer in ... the worst that can happen is they'll say no.

Actually I think the worst that can happen is that you'll own a house on a "23rd Street" in some faraway rural boondock. "Ten hours' walk to the subway; what!?"
