Discussion about 333 East 14th Street in Gramercy Park
I am looking at the apartment in this building and it requires a lot of work to make it nice. Has anyone heard about this building and also how much it would be to do total kitchen remodeling, floors and bathroom? thanks!

I'm not experienced w/ remodeling. You might want to search previous threads or start a new thread that specificly mentions remodeling, otherwise many here won't see your question.
That particular stretch of the East Village (well, it's on the Gramercy side of the street) is pretty charmelss, congested and loud, but you are close to plenty of everything. The train is right there, and the L will connect you to pretty much everything else, but bear in mind that morning rush hour on the L is beyond overcrowded. You might be starting every day with a miserable squeeze. You do have the M14A and M14D busses right there if you don't mind a slower commute. The building trades lower than average for the neighborhood (I think it's the specific location); there should be plenty of comps here. If you google the address you can find a website for the building that has a download of every floorplan. Should help you with comps beyond just your line. The common areas are OK but a little dated, nothing special. Virtual doorman is fine for some people, not as good for others. Upper floors might have some nice views, but if I remember correctky there's no roof access. Bummer. Good luck.
east 14th street is still ugly...
yes, i agree. its not the most beautiful street. but apartment itself is not bad
for the same money why not look at east 18the street. I looked at 130 east 18th street and that's a great block.
Well, I guess one reason not to look on East 18th street is that it's boring. E. 14th street may not be the cutest stretch of road, but it is in the center of everything as far as dining, nightlife, parks, the Y, transportation and shopping. It's a fun, happening place to live!
It's not Gramercy Park.
Ya, thank God. Gramercy Park = middle aged snoozefest.
