I wasn't aware of any of this. Since you said "interesting argument," I was expecting an opinion piece, not multiple quotes from European leaders. I don't read the financial papers regularly, so I appreciate posts like this. And yes, I'll also appreciate an article refuting this from Forbes, WSJ, Crains, etc., if anyone cares to post one.

could this really happen? I guess it could. The truth is US domination in the global economy is similar to its domination in the military might. That's why we are not feeling the effect of the declining dollar, but everyone else is hurting...

It is an oped piece. Do people have any idea what the mechanics would be of going back to the pre-Euro currencies?
