I realize I was unduly vague. Is it difficult to park on the Upper West Side - like from 60th to 80th?

Alt. side of the street parking favor your plan.
Park Tuesday by 10:30AM and you won't have to move until 8:30AM Friday.
Don't forget that the parking manuvers begin at about 9-9:30AM.

You'll have "no problem" finding parking in the high-theft and high-vandalism areas of Uptown (east of Broadway). If you want to park in the more secure neighborhoods, however, my advice is to just bite the bullet and lease a spot in a garage.

Note that alternate side parking rules impose 1.5 hour no-no blocks, staggered, with (afaik) 8:30 to 12:30 start times.

Since you are on this forum please let me know what car and block you plan to park on so I won't siphon your gas or steal your hubcaps : )
