a garage space just closed at 63k. monthlies sum to just under 300$/month.
I pay 300$/month for my lot space on the UES.
I know there are few garages in Park Slope Brooklyn, and there are many better-heeled-than-only-a-few-years-ago residents, and these do trade---but i have a hard time seeing these prices as sensible.
Ant st parking in Brooklyn is much easier than manhattan--only one move day required, and double parking til the street-cleaner passes is still tolerated--in mahattan that's a 120$ ticket

at the end of the twenty years they buyer will have a garage space with no mortgage worth more than $63k.

but if i just rent my space for same $$ "they buyer" pays monthly, and put my $63k into the S&P i will have a lot more toys at the end of the game.

This question has been updated to be $300K for the right to pay $300/mo for a space. Maybe in 4 years a bigger fool will pay 5x more for the same right.

SE says slot 421 closed at $280k on 11 Jan. Slot 611 is currently asking $300k.
Oddly listed as "0.1 rooms, studio", but the listing is delightfully free of the usual brokerbabble, simply saying "Park it here". Now accepting entries for most over-the-top listing text...
