Discussion about
I'm working on a story for amNY about the class wars in coops - differences between residents/board members who believe buildings should be managed as frugally as possible in order to keep maintenance low and residents/board members who are more willing to spend what it takes to keep or improve amenities. The budgetary disputes could also be reflected in terms of what is necessary to spend on support staff, renovations, upkeep, etc. If you are willing to speak on the record about budgetary disputes in your building and how you have (or haven't) solved them, please contact me at sheila.feeney@am-ny.com. Thank you for your time. All the best and none of the worst, Sheila

my observation is that working class and the class below it (welfare/benefit class?) tend to spend whatever they have in the pocket, and they inherit this habit into coop management.

on the other way, middle/professional class normally think of some way to save money and cut back some unnecessary spending

then the 1% will spend whatever and whenever they feel like to
