Discussion about
I have been an independent dog walker/pet sitter in the west 60-70s for the last 8yrs. After moving to North Williamsburg a few years ago I started adding some local business. Some of these new clients stem from my volunteer work for a local animal rescue group. If by chance anyone needs a walker or pet sitter please feel free to drop me a note moxieland@hotmail.com

If you're not already on the forum linked below, you might get some response there, too:

Oh I don't know. I generally don't like self-promotion here, but moxie has been around for awhile, and hasn't been obnoxious about it. Unlike some brokers.

Moxie if you, or another rescue volunteer, are making potential adopters aware of your services, you are not just promoting your business but overcoming a barrier to adoption. Many adopters are concerned about "what happens when I'm not home" and they can be leery of finding pet care without a personal recommendation. Knowing that someone is involved with the rescue group, and known to the people there can be an excellent and reassuring endorsement. Talking about your business capabilities in the context of rescue and adoption can be extremely helpful to people and animals as well as profitable. Good Luck.

What rescue group do you work with?

Badass Brooklyn. Great organization that rescues dogs from kill shelters around the South and transports them to NYC to find homes. There's a Facebook page "Badass Brooklyn Foster Dog" that goes into more detail. We have adoption events on Saturday or Sunday most weeks in Williamsburg, Thanks for the words of encouragement NR.
