Interested in hearing what the buyers in this building think about the new exterior as it has significantly changed from the rendering?

I have not bought in 10-50 but I have seen the building recently and I am familiar with the renderings. I don't disagree that it doesn't look the same; however, the original renderings were not very clear in comparison to other new building renderings. It makes it hard to argue becasue it looked like a big block of grey in the renderings. I wouldn't mind the silver, but I don't know about the blue part that they are starting to uncover.

The base of the building is being done in a mid-tone blue and some of the lower balconys that are rendered as being glass will actually be solid. I am worried this building is going to look very cheap when it is done. I thought the rendering looked a bit more upscale than what they are doing at the site. I guess time will tell.

I am a buyer and agree that the exterior building material looks different than what I expected after viewing the rendering (I thought it would have a matte concrete-type finish instead of the more reflective silver coating). I'm not unhappy with it, however. The builders seem to have done a good job with constructing this building in a timely but careful manner (look at Echelon in comparison -- I've heard several people complain about the shoddy construction of that building). With closings set to begin in November 08, we'll see how 10-50 Jackson looks on the inside soon enough!

I am a contract holder and recently received another amendment dealing with cc rounding errors. The real update was I believe closings will begin in 12/08. Do you think this date is achievable? Has anyone gone on a site visit? I had received a call regarding the site visit but than nothing was ever scheduled. My experience with the broker recently is radio silence despite various communication attempts (phone and email) and just wondering what is going on?

not sure if this helps, but 10-63 jackson was supposed to be ready for closings in Dec. 08 and now it's being pushed out to Feb/Mar 09. Of these two buildings (10-63 & 10-50), anyone know which is considered to be ahead?

I spoke with the broker just a few days ago and she told me that site visits would start very soon. She did not mention if closings would be in december. From my past expierience, give a 1 to 3 month window from the date that they publish. I would try calling her again. I think 1050 is much more finished than 1063.

yes, 10-50 already had the exterior structure up when 10-63 was just breaking ground.

eureka - spoke to broker's assistant, someone is alive over there in brooklyn. CO or TCO came in, site visits are being looked at for Nov 08. Expect an email soon with details. Is it possible that this will actually happen? Any updates on when the contract holder google group every got off the ground?

Google group does exist - I am not the admin, though I did join - please join up - it would be good to have more members and it also offer a venue for slightly more private "conversations."

Can you provide more detail about what you spoke to the broker's assistant about (and, who was that exactly)? What exactly did they say? Did the CO or TCO come in, or are they just expecting it to come in soon? Any word on closing dates? Thanks for your help.
